Looks all wrong to me , not like pictures in manual or u tube. Whole assembly seems to be sticking too far out and you can see a large clip at the rear of the shaft which I cant see in any pictures ....

.....any ideas what has gone wrong.... HELP!

I think so too, page 43 shows the bearing in the cover, i'd be pulling it off and inspecting. I think you will find the bearings at the bottom of the motor with what is left of the cage.

As others have said you are missing the bearing, it seems that the inner race of the bearing is still on the shaft, if i was i your position i would take the right cover out and check if it is on the bottom of the case.

I don't think so, I just checked a picture I made when I had the inner cover off to replace the crank nut and it seems there is a bushing between the clip and the lock nut. Its not part of the bearing.

They have just forgotten to install the bearing I reckon...

Thanks Doc!

Latest instalment - took the bike to the dealer ...they found the bearing inside the cap

Said ..."The bearing sits inside the screw out cap and slides over the shaft as the cap is located and screwed in. ".... I guess that makes sense if you look at the diagram on page 32..if its part number 39.

You wouldn't be able to see the bearing that is pressed into the back side of the cover ..part number 12?

What do you think?

The bearing should be pressed into the case. It does not come out with the cap on my bike or in any of the pictures I have seen
