Power valve oil

Hi I have a ec300 2008 when I look behind the power valve covers on the barrel there seams to be a lot of oil, I’ve read somewhere that it can be crank oil seals , is this the case and how easy are they to change

How much is a lot? Can you post an image?

It really depends on how much oil is there. Is it oil, or residue? When was the last time you cleaned the top end?

Oil in that area is normal. That is part of the exhaust system. The better jetted your bike is the less oil that will be in there.

(being a 2008 i would be surprised if this is still the case but)
from the factory the breather pipe from the powervalve side cover is crimped closed which can result in oil buildup in the PV, most people allow this to breathe, but yes it will be nicely tarred in oil

Here's picture of right side of power valve , is this amount of oil normal or is there a problem

Looks normal to me.

The other side is similar also the exhaust is a little oily does this all sound normal

Very normal on both sides. I actually have a little oil run out of the other side when I pull the cover.

If you jet it perfectly there will probably be that much oil. But the bike will run crazy much better..
Look at the jetting threads.
