The vent coming off the power valve on the left side of my 07 ec300 is zip tied shut. Should it be? the one on the right side is not. I have not owned a 2 stroke in a long time and this is my first gasgas, so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I did take the zip tie off and quite a bit of oil ran out. Is this normal? Also there is an allen head bolt under the engine near the front. Is this some kind of drain? Thanks.

Welcome to the Gas Gas Rider forums.

You can leave the hose open. I think it is zip tied to prevent contaminating streams etc.
Some oil draining is normal.

The allen bolt is a drain. Very helpful after swamping your engine from a deep water crossing.

There are a few of us going up the Sam Houston Forest to ride this weekend, you ought to come join us.

In addition to above

The hose on the right power valve chamber is the transmission vent. Run the hose straight up over the radiator and out of the way to help avoid sucking up water.

You can also run it back to the air box if you ride where its wet alot. I've run it in both positions
