I'm busy prepping the wheels on my 2012 300 Race, and in the course of that I removed the 48T Talon Radialite sprocket in lieu of a 50T Ironman chainwheel. There were a couple other new sprockets in the shop that I measured for comparison.
Talon Radialite 48T (no inner ring) - 9.95 oz
stock GasGas 2011 aluminum 48T - 11.35 oz
Ironman 50T steel - 20.30 oz
Supersprox tri-metal (2011 SixDays, Race) 48T - 25.8 oz !
You could imagine that a 48T Ironman might sneak in under 20 oz, or less than 80% of the Supersprox rear. Congrats to GasGas for spec'ing the Talon and shaving the weight, but if you're after a steel replacement, you'd have to think the Ironman is the better choice.
