Doing some work on my bike and thought I would pull the reed cage and have alook see. This would be the first time off since it was put on at the factory. (06 300 about 55 hours) Any tricks to getting this thing out without trashing the gaskets. The metal "cover" came right off but the rest of it seems pretty tight together. any tips ... other than going at it with a putty knife!!!

I gently tap on mine and then used a razor blade and managed to salvage the gasket with little damage.

Well, if you trash the original, you can just order a new gasket, or make a new one yourself. It's only a few dollars or 10 minutes with razor knife and some gasket material.

Where the heck are you finding gasket material? I must have checked at 10 auto parts stores and several hardware stores and NONE of them have gasket material. I always get the same response "no-one uses that stuff any more, everyone uses RTV sealant..."

I went at it with a small screw driver. Almost got the whole thing off with out ripping the gasket but did not see that last little bit still stuck to the manifold cover .... riiip!! Damn!! I'll get a couple of extra gaskets from the dealer. The gasket from vforce seems to be a little more difficult to find. As luck would have moto tassinari is in NH so I'll give them a call and ask why there is not gas gas part numbers on thier site but a vforce reed cage is on my bike??

The large, full gasket between the manifold and the VF3 cage is important as it seals the part of the cage that snaps together.
