Reed Questions

I am busy with a full rebuild on my bike and noticed that one corner of the bottom petal is slightly frayed, you can still see the shape of the petal but it is a bit "furry" (will post pics later)

Anyway i know that most of my riding is on the pilot jet so wanted to know if i could just switch the top and bottom petals over (not tried it yet for fear of f-ing it up!) so i get more life out of it while waiting for the next order of petals

Also want to know if there is a cross-over part for them so i can try other brand stores?

If it means you can ride it sooner, you can flip the reed and ride it. You can install the new ones when they arrive or after the old reed fails. You will be the first to know when it dies.

I check my reeds periodically and if they are not cracked or chipped but show a little contact surface wear around the edges, I flip them to get a new sealing surface and get some more life out of them.
