Its just a masterlink on a O-Ring 520 Renthal chain. I used the "Rivit Link".
I have a little tool that I use to press on masterlinks before I slip in the little clip. This time I got as far as pressing on the little plate, but there was no clip.
All the other pins on the chain have a little (lack of a better term) bevel in them to hold the pin into the side plates. This Masterlink side plate (that I just pressed on) does not have any bevels.
I am concerned about what will keep those pins from slipping out of the pressed on side plate. There is no clip to keep it in place.
Is there a tool I am supposed to use to MAKE BEVELS in the masterlink pins ?
I could grind a little material out of the centers and then use a punch or something to mash the pins edges over the plates, BUT THAT JUST SEEMS CRAZY & WRONG!!!
It also seems a little wrong that I just squish that little plate on and call it good.
