Repacking Q Stealth

My 300 is starting to get pretty noisy so I pulled the packing out and am replacing it. Does FMF make a kit specific for the Q? There is a wrap around the core under the packing.

Has anyone used any other sort of exhaust wrap on the core, than put the packing on?

I use the FMF packing, but don't have a Q, mine is a .TC 2.....PRETTY much the same i would think.

I've repacked a QStealth before, just uses a little more of the same packing used in the TC2. Wait till you see how much oil is soaked in the packing. Doesn't take long for them to get louder.

The packing would be pretty much the same, just need more of it for the Q, but the Q has another wrap that is wrapped tight around the core as well. It was a loose material that is about 1" wide, looks like some kind of exhaust wrap. When I unwrapped it, it totalled about 80'. I haven't seen that on any silencers I've had before.

im curious to see what it sounds like next time we ride bro cause that sucker was LOUD! however i quite liked how the 11 nambo felt, strong bike and i really liked the 48 zokes!

I just installed a Cannon Racecraft silencer on my '12. Fit left a lot to be desired but its nice, light, and compact. End is almost even with the number plate. Its a bit louder but fine for what I do, and seems to bark off the bottom a little better. Race day next Suday will tell.

Hahaha!
I'm curious to hear it too. I was expecting the packing to be soaked but it wasn't that bad. The wrap around the core was pretty charred up in spots though, especially at the pipe end.

Trevor,

I'll snap a pic tonight. Its A LOT shorter and smaller in dia. than the Stealth. Round like a Messico silencer but a little shorter, and with a slightly larger core dia. It barks, but for my use its no issue as its still quieter than most 4strokes. My concern is the Stealth is too big and too much of a load on the plastic subframe mounts in a hit or fall. Some of our harescramble races end up in some real "close quarters combat". I had a guy go down in front of me and while wiggling by some kid on a 250F rammed me from behind pretty hard. Luckily he hit my swingarm and not the end of the Stealth.
