could someone please tell me the best race and static sag settings for a 2010 250 ec.

thanks in advance

I can see that your 2010 came with the same superinformative manual that mine came with!

I will be giving the SA GG racer a call later today and will pass on the info

imo, the best sag numbers are the ones that feel right. for instance, i was given about 100-110 for my loaded sag, but i have it at around 90, because at 105 it feels like the back sinks down and makes turning suck. play with the sag and the clickers and see what feels right. the numbers seem more like guidelines than a definite answer anyhow.

yeah the same manual that tells you absolutely nothing !!! if you could let me know what they say that would be great.

The reason I asked on hear is due to riding KTM's for years. We had a lot of settings that were different to the manual that improved the ride no end so I was just looking for some similar advice.

Not 100% sure on the new bike but the 07 and previous worked really well with a shock spring preload of 10-12 mm.
This is a good start point and from here you can check static and race sag. They should be around 30mm and 110 respectively( from memory.
As Dank states , from there it is personal choice .
Remember to adjust the forks to match also and do the balance test.(push down on front of the seat with front brake on and bike should stay level.
Cheers Mark

ok apparently the GG likes a lot of sag.
What i was told is to measure from the end of the exhaust to the axle bolt and have the sag at about 115mm

As the bike is new and the suspension takes a while to settle in we will need to check the sag regularly for the first months. Also as the GG is so much fun to ride i will be out more often and most likely end up getting lighter as the months progress:D

theres is only one correct way to measure sag and thats to follow the forward curve of the swingarm as it is compressed, to do this measure the distance from the middle of the front sprocket shaft to the middle of the rear wheel nut with the bike on its stand, now move the tape measure from the rear nut to the rear side guard and mark the guard where the distance is the same as the first measurement, this is following the curve of the rear wheel and the correct point to measure the sag from.

With the rear wheel of the ground measure the distance from the rear side guard to the middle of the rear wheel nut.

With the bike now on the ground re measure static sag which should be 25 to 35mm less than the first measurement, get 2 friends and get all your gear on, now get one friend to hold the front fork so you can put your weight on the bike and postion yourself in your normall riding position, get some else to measure the distance again, that should be 95 to 105mm less than the first measurement, if your a moto x rider the rider sag should be closer to 95mm. If you cant get the static sag and rider sag to be between the correct ranges you need to get the correct spring for you weight.
