Sand socks

Hi guys .. I recently bought a 2009 gasgas ec125 .. when I picked it up it had a sand sock/filter fitted to it .. am I ok to carry on running with this or shall I take it off ? It'll be used mainly wooded areas etc

I guess you mean on the air filter? Take it off and use it when it's dry and dusty.
