Shock Crossover?

Any idea what shocks might fit a 2010 EC250F?

I cannot imagine this shock is a GasGas only item. It must be used by another company somewhere?

I have a 2011 gasgas 250 f it's the same shock as the 2011 2 stroke just had mine revalved your is the same ohlins 888 or Sachs will work

The reason I asked about shock crossover with other bikes is that I just had the OEM shock serviced and it turned out the shop could not source some of the seals.

I ended up machining the seal seats to a larger size so that more common seals could be used. However it got me thinking if that shock ever dies what could it be replaced with?

GasGas must use a shock that is also used in another brand of bike?

I don't know if this is exactly the answer you are looking for but I have used a 1999 Kawasaki KX 250 KYB shock on my older Gas Gassers. I had one on a 2001 300 and I believe it would have fit my 2007 as they "looked" the same. Those should be a similar shock to the 2011. The KX shock is a little bit shorter so I got some shorter (I think?) dog bone links for the suspension. Frankly, the KX shock worked much better than the stock Ohlins. I think the '99 KX shocks work on '97-'02 KXs (I think 2003 KXs, too, but I have not tried it yet). Please note: You cannot use KX shock parts in the stock GG shock.

I can confirm that the '02 will fit an '03 KX250. Did the swap since the '03 shock didn't come with high speed compression like the '02.

Hooligan, talk to a suspension tuner and compare the GG shock with shocks he has. I installed an '01-'06 Suzuki RM125 Showa shock (with a Honda XR400 lower clevis) into my Kawasaki KDX220 chassis which came with KYB. I know it's not a GasGas but it shows what you can do if you take the time to compare and figure it out.

I'm a little bit surprised there is not an obvious and easy shock swap. I cannot imagine the shock is specific only to GasGas.

For now the shock has been rebuilt and will last for the foreseeable future. The internals have been modified to allow the use of more common seal sizes so t should be able to be serviced again. Just worried that some of the harder to find parts might wear out and leave me stuck.

Watch eBay pick up a Sachs or ohlins 888 for a spare there should be plenty out there 07-11 will work
