Skidplate/pipe guard predicament

Ah nuts. This is a good news, bad news situation:

The good news is Hyde is updating their EXG-78 combo skidplate/pipeguard. The bad news is that it may be six weeks before any of the new units arrive.

I have a new (still in crate) 09 ec300 on the way. If I was only planning on playing in the woods for the next 6 weeks I'd take the risk and wait, but I'll be doing a 100 mile poker run and a 100 mile race out in the desert next month. It's all about biting it on rocks and slamming your skidplate into silt-hidden boulders the size of VW bugs out there.

I was set on the Hyde, but I guess I'm open to suggestions. I just liked the idea of how light they are, as well as sliding better than aluminum.

Maybe someone has a cheap used skidplate and/or pipe guard they'd like to sell me?

Correct! And I may also check out the Dirty Poker Run later this month. I have a new ec300 that needs its legs stretched.

it will cost more, but you may wish to look into the carbon fiber. ive heard good things about p3.
