Sprocket shaft :(

Previous owner has ran the bike with out a clrclip on the sprocket, i've just received mine from MotoMerlin (fantastic service, rang up at 4:30pm yesterday and two was delivered today)

any way i got to mount it and on inspection the the end of the sprocket shafts splines are fucked, the clip has no grove to sit in so can slip right off


How much of a pain in the arse is this going to be to get a new shaft put in and how much money am i looking at spending?

Since the shaft is messed up why not weld a very small tab on it to keep the sprocket on. Every year or two you simply grind it off,replace the sprocket and weld again.

I was going to suggest a washer tack welded onto the end.

Thanks guys, what i started to do was hack saw the grove little deeper so it had more to sit in, this looks to have worked somewhat, so will dome some more scoring of it tomorrow,


needs some time spending on this bike, riding it yesterday the fueling was all over the place, getting on the gas there was massive flat spots

previous owner said he's put 'bigger' jets in so he's probably cocked the jetting right up on it too

also the suspension is horrendous, there is soft suspension and then there is this! defo needs an overhaul, its a world apart from my old Suzuki RM and Honda CRF

also the ride hight seems overly high, higher than my CRF and RM ever was, what should be the sight hight on these? im 6'2 / 6'3 and would say its bloody tall for me
