sorry if this is a newbie silly type question.
are sprockets universal? when I go on the site I want to use to buy a new set you can put your make model in etc and it brings up compatible sets. as far as I can see though there are cheaper options that are not linked to my bike but I would of thought they are just a universal shape size number of bolt holes? If I need to spend the extra that's fine but I don't want to spend it if its not needed

many thanks
simon

No they are not universal. You will be hard pressed to find Gas Gas specific sprockets, but the Italian Husky sprockets fit (not KTM era). I got a 50 tooth off a TXC310 that fit perfectly.

Lots of cross referencing parts with this bike, but that is a good thing.

thank you! glad I checked! looks like my cheapest way is to buy all three items from different suppliers then!

The front sprocket is GG specific but one listing on ebay lists the following for the rear sprocket (I just bought a Dirt Tricks Ironman that showed pretty much the same x-over)

Personally I don't trust e-bay for fitment after being burnt by sellers in the past. Yes Husqvarna rear sprockets from 1995 up until KTM bought them out will fit but Ktm turned those bikes into rebadged ktms so I'd bet they now have ktm sprockets.

one last question whilst im here! what size circlip do I need for the front sprocket? generally I like to change circlips etc every time just to be safe

GG part number is ME25936084 (or may supercede to a newer number). It's description is D25, DIN 471
I decipher that as a #25 retaining ring, type DIN471. If you google DIN471 you'll get some sites with measurements. A good fastener supply store would probably stock it.

Dirt Tricks - Ironman. The rears are second to none. They also sell a combo kit at a discount
Renthal

Two quality options

I'm curious about the different types of sprockets out there, what?s the pro?s and con?s of the different types as follows:
? Fully alloy
? Full Steel
? A combination, i.e. an alloy carrier with a steel ring on the outside with the teeth

Moose last 2 races. Supersprox (alloy and steel) last a very long time. Ironman (some kind of superman shat) last forever. I buy the ironman.
