Starter flywheel removal and nut question

Ive removed my estart system almost completly now. I bought a plastic ignition cover to replace the aluminum stocker that the starter mounted to. The flywheel was hitting the new cover so i popped the nut of the ignition and removed the flywheel. Question is, do i need to order a different nut to hold my ignition on or can the stepped nut be used. If anybody has a stock nut ill buy it from you if thats what i need. GMP, im sure youll read this, do you know what im talking about? Thanks guys for any help!!!

I think you mean the ring gear on the actual flywheel, correct? I've never seen the start parts, but I imagine the stepped nut is for centering this ring gear. If it bottoms out on the flywheel and holds it, and does not hit the cover you will be fine.
