Street legal?

Are the new enduros street legal in NY or any state. They have turn signals. I am particularly interested in the XC 250. I want to ride it primarily off road, just using the roads to drive where I ride instead of transporting the bike on my truck.

Thanks!

Wild Bill: Unfortunately the XCs do not come with turn signals (or a tail light or high/lo headlight) for that matter. The good news is that the wiring is there to run a brakelight off of the front and rear brakes, and there is a pigtail for a tail light.
Also absent is the plastic structure that typically serves to mount the license plate and taillight.
Parts, however, are available ...

The gas gas website shows the xc having turn signals and liscense plate mount, perhaps its just a European model or something... I was really excited about the possibility of a street legal 2-stroke! I suppose those have no chance at passing emissions.

The EC 250 and 450 are street legal though, correct?

The bikes on the corporate site are ROW (rest-of-world) with the exception of the US, New Zealand, and one or two other countries.

We get an XC (although the graphics still say EC) that skips the stuffed up intake, airpump, catalyzed exhaust, horn, turn signals, turn signal switch gear, tail light, and high/low beam switch. The XCs come with a wiring harness that will accept those parts, and both brake masters have wiring to run the brake light.

The 250 and 450 Fse are supposed to be streetable, but the 250 Fse I have is essentially a four-stroke XC.
