My buddy and I need a road trip to ride.
Less road and more ride makes this a good distance from us.
Could be fun.

Does anybody know what this place is like? Where to stay (or not stay), etc.?

Thanks in advance.

We were thinking about this funfest below (Oct. 22, 2011), but it's a little farther than we need to go just to get out of town for a change of scenery. Sounds like just my kind of fun, stupid event though. :p Anybody near Ohio might want to have some serious and affordable grass track fun.

needs to ride.

I've been there. This is a new location that just opened this year, just outside Scranton. Back in June, it was all quad wide and wider rocky stuff. Some technical stuff as well. A lot like NETRA and what I have by my house. They had plans for single track, and I beleive there is some now. This land has huge potential and can only get better. Not sure about how crowded it is on weekends, as we went midweek. I have been to the old location many times, and they had some excellent singletrack, so they know how to do it.

If you want to go let me know, I could meet you there. I prefer to avoid crowds and could do a midweek day if you guys are up for that.

Also, if your looking for a road trip, why not head down to south Jersey for the Hammer Run dual sport on Nov 5/6? Its really a trail ride, mostly single track, hardly any blacktop. Like a fun enduro without checks.

The hammer run is well worth the extra bit of driving.. That said if you go to lost trails let me know,, its like 45 minutes from my house.. If you want to camp your welcome to my back yard,, If its not a weekend I already have house guests I may have room inside too.. as long as you dont mind dogs..

Dean,

For the Hammer Run it will be me, Bucksnbikes(on my old GG), Steve if he feels OK, and maybe Ed (eff) as far as members, plus some other friends. Guaranteed good time, and not many riding days like that left before the long northeast winter.

I'll be there,, sending out my pre entry this weekend.. signing up for both days.. saturday is lower keyed.. sunday is faster stuff.. just like an enduro without checks but fun.. all switchbacks. rhythm almost no whoops and last year there was very little mud or sugar sand.. I think We may see some mud this year..

And they have gas stops and lunch stop/shops set up on trail so you dont have to carry food!! its just too good! Its why I have a plate on my bike!!

Still working on this. My buddy backed out, so it will be me solo and my family will be staying with family if I make it.

You won't be solo you will ride with us. It will be like a big GG freight train through the woods! I raced in Millville last Sunday, which is very close to Port Elizabeth. The sandy dirt was pefectly tacky with a few small muddy spots. Corner exits were epic!

Thanks, that is actually what has ride still on the table. I should know better after this weekend (we are having a party this weekend and my wife and I are focused on getting ready)

Yuengling is really good stuff!:D I always try to grab some when I'm over in NY state.

I wish I had fought harder to get a street plate on my 300.
I might try again.

I would definately be slowing down the GG freight train, anyway, I think.

How about Rocket Raceway? Anybody been there? That's a perfect halfway point whenever we finally go to Hatfield McCoy.

Thanks for the feedback and invite!

Funny, when my wife was in school at Scranton U, that was the cheap stuff that they could afford to drink. Now its a microbrew.

nope,, always a micro,, just micro wasnt a good thing before.. and the cheap isnt the lager.. its the Yuengling premium,, about $7 a case.. I cant stomach it.. kinda tastes like bud..Lager is a traditional but they started to make it in the late 80's? or 90's from a old recipe and it took off.. saved the company..Which I drove right past the brewery today.. love the smell of the cookin..

Motogroove,, cant get a plate?? this is an epic ride.. and you wont be holding me up.. I'm no where near my usual speed anymore.. I'm just hoping to actually ride two days.. Ive only rode 3 days this year.. less than 120 miles total this year.. so far..

Steve, thanks for the Yuengling history lesson.;) Beth said that they had digestive issues Freshmen year until they got used to the stuff, must be what you describe.

I can't wait, had a great race down there last week and I'm still pumped.

That premium is,,, well... its like um.. compare it to meisterbrau or milwaukees best.. the sub $7 per case beer was not easy on the system..
