Today's powervalve thread - loose bolt screws race

OK, so does anybody use thread locker on bolt #33 ?

http://www.gasgasrider.org/pv_disassembly_mattr.pdf

Seemed like a bad place for loctite, until I found mine had fallen out. You can see how this would feel like a catastrophic failure, especially when accompanied by a nasty lean rev. Do you think a deranged PV might have caused the lean rev I attributed to hitting reserve? Coincidence? Chicken or the egg?

I believe elsewhere the resulting symptom was described as a big ass flat spot.

Thread locker? Torque spec? Other ideas?

And while I'm asking...
am I able to tell if my governor's balls are dislodged from above? Or do I have to go full frontal? Preload seems pretty good as long as it's not excessive.

Thanks,
Dean

I'm dreaming of a PV cover modification that would block the offending bolt from coming loose. Or maybe a nylon plug of the correct length that could rest in the end of the bolt...

:confused::cool::eek:

when i got my bike new in 08 i pulled it down and thread locked every bolt on the bike i could get to motor internals excluded and i have never had a problem
