Wanted: 43mm EC forks and/or EC shock

I have MC suspension (43mm forks and Olins shock) on a very lightly used 2000 250MC and I want to convert the suspension to a more plush woods riding feel. It's not bad, but it's not up to my new KTMxcw. I will trade the suspension or buy the forks and shock as they come available.

Thanks,
John

Trade? Just revalve it. It will eaisly outperform the KTM suspension, in the rear anyway.

This is an older play bike, so I don't want to spend $700 sending it to Factory Connection and I've had less than happy results with Race Tech gold valving. I was thinking that I could buy used EC forks and an EC shock for around $300 and then sell what I have.

I would appreciate any recommendations for inexpensive and good revalving (like the Fabtech kits).

Thanks,
JCW

Fabteck Revalve

I did the Fabtech revalve on my 2001 XC. It was a tiny
bit better- still hydraulic locked on the big rock hits.
It is easy to revalve the base valve on these forks.
The Fabtech #1 stack is: ( since they are out of business )
.10x24 /.10x24 / .15x12 OEM Crossover / .10x21 / .10x18 / .10x15 / .10x12 / .10x10 / .30x09/ .20x18

If you want to trade up, go for the newer 48mm Marzocchi forks and clamps! (very nice forks, IMHO)

If you need to save $$, send the forks to Les at LTR in
Washington, he reworks the midvalve and basevalve.
I have spent many hours on the KTM Talk website researching, and the midvalve must be reworked
on these 43's to get them to work right for woods. It is an art. The midvalve must be paired with
matching basevalve shims to get it right.

My final solution- I got the forks completely redone at Dicks
Racing in NorCal. The APS mod costs big $$ (300) but works very well in rocks.

I don't even fart around with the suspension anymore... Les does such good work and for such a reasonable price it's a no brainer. I was fiddling with my Ohlins all the time before I sent the whole kitten kaboodle to him. I haven't touched them since.

Thanks everyone for the info. I would love to try to put in a stack one day, but I'd need to have someone around to help the first time. From what everyone says, LTR must be awesome and reasonable. I'll send them there if I can't dial them in soon.

I've had great luck with Factory Connection ($700 forks and shock) and BAD luck with Race Tech Gold Valves. I would send my new forks off and spend that much if needed, but not an older play bike. I corrected several problems after the first ride and I'm thinking I might be able to dial them in now.

Thanks again everyone for your help and advice.
