Hello guys,

Just to let the owners of EC 2018 to protect the clutch discs cover, this thing looks like its made of paper 2mm aluminium, my bike fell on its side while on the stand and it did this job: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aq0Qx6sqeizHgplqJ8zYSJ_OLVCAkg

I got stuck on the trail with this in hands, i had to pull the bike out of a nasty single track to the nearest road.

Protect this cover so the bad luck don't knock on your door like it did to me.

Cheers.

That is bad luck. I would have expected the normal damage caused by the rear brake lever being punched into the case. That's a much more difficult area to protect. At least you didn't suddenly lose your transmission oil from a hole low down on the case.

Did the case break up and shed pieces into the engine?

The engine was turned off when this happened, and i did not turned it on again until i dismounted the cover. I just got little bits of dirt on the clutch plate, nothing major.

this cover needs something like this: https://www.motocrosscenter.com/sho...k-for-kawasaki-kx250f-2009-2017-hog10056.html

Ouch that's bad luck really. The engine covers on other bikes are also very thin, especially all KTM smokers from 2017 on.

On my GG/18 I had the Rekluse cover which seems to be at least a little bit less prone to breaking. But I am looking for a cover protector for my 2019, didnt find anything good yet.
Dont like the one you show, they act like an inuslation and keep the heat saved.

Footpeg has copped some abuse too by the look of it!

Pardon my ignorance but why do you(& lots of others) run the peg pin upside down?

Yep the footpeg got bent on another occasion, got hit by rock on a narrow passage.

The clip came like this from factory i didn?t changed it.

Ok. I always run them main pin in from the top so even if split pin falls out gravity should help keep main pin in.

I guess I 'm one of the others :-)
I run the peg pins upside down because I think that it should be as smooth as possible under the footpeg, as they slide over obstacles. I don't know if it has any practical significance, but that's my reason.

I think also on some bikes (like 2010) the clutch side will require removing the clutch cover to install the pin from the top

The clutch cover isn't much, if any, different than any other euro OEM clutch cover. They are all weak and flimsy like that. It's just a stroke of luck how it landed when you dropped it.
