After all these years and forums like the old talking smack and of course presently, heck 20 ++ years, I suddenly won't have a Gasser in the garage, with both the TXT250 and the EC300 finding new homes in the last two days.
Although the 300 is staying in the broader riding circle.

The fleet is getting a bit of a trim. Tbh I've not actually been able to ride for a year after a huge medical incident that has badly affected my balance.

The Gasers ended up as my backup bikes, in case I was waiting for parts and certain rides where the KYBs shine.

I'm riding a bicycle for the first time in 40 years for therapy. I'm getting better. Maybe able to ride again in a year, both the dirt and the road are complex environments or harsh surfaces respectively.

That all said, I'll still pop my head in here to see what's going on.

Damn, sorry to hear of your medical issues. I hope you recover fully and can enjoy riding dirt bikes again. Definitely keep in touch!

I'm considering selling and moving into the eMTB world, so many more places to ride them around here
I haven't sold anything, but have had my hardtail eMTB for a year now. Its great fun, and as you say, there are lots of places to ride. I don't ride bike parks or downhill slopes, just biking around in the woods around my home. All my eMtb trips starts from home, and my usual trip would be 20-35km round trip with an elevation change of 200-400m. In addition, I ride to work a couple of times a week. Have ridden 2800km in a year, and spent a lot more hours on the eMTB than on my motorbikes.

Yes, understand that it feels strange. At 64, I'm fortunately still able to ride all my bikes (the Ducati and the Gasgas are the ones in current use). I have been riding motorbikes for the last 50 years or so. Parting with them due to inability to use them seems like nightmare to me.

I rode my other 2 stroke 300 down a deserted gravel road and back a couple of times on Sunday as a reward. Didn't feel rusty, I smiled a lot.
But I'm still noticing that things are not quite right, especially on close focus stuff. Uneven trail ground would be a mistake at this stage. It is big progress from just a few months ago.

My GG Trials bike went on Saturday.
TRS still in Garage though.

Swazi, you moved to the wrong part of NZ it seems. Try the Berm Buster rides for a good weekend away.

I did a berm buster on my trials bike and it is not really my cup of tea, graded forest roads with the odd more technical breakout single trail, I always liked the rocky stuff, Which is partly why i enjoy trials. I also tried Knaeves ville out near thames and that was hard, but mostly clay mud (and 1.5hrs each way). I have also been spoilt with being able to ride from my front door in any direction in Swaziland, and spend most of the day riding without ever needing 5th or 6th.
REnted an eMTB at Roto-vegas a few weeks ago with my son and i think this will be my happy medium
 
I took both there. The EC is well suited. The trials bike was excellent in the harder breakouts, but almost killed me getting to them, horrible.
 
with the short suspension travel it was like doing 10,000 squats on the whooped out track. I ended up spending most of my day testing all the ktm's and huskies
