Went Riding Today and.....

As per usual my 06 FSE450 was awesome to ride and gave my 34 year old body a punishing :( One question.... the bike sometimes when riding at low rpm (near idle) seems to give a small backfire and stalls. The valve clearances are getting checked this week, could this be the cause??? It doesn't happen all the time just occasionally. Feel free to blame the pilot if needed.

Thanks

I don't have a gasser 4 stroke but my husky will do the fart stall. One of the main reasons I went back to the 2 strokes.

Check the valves, run good gas and I'm sure your FI is doing a good job but if you can alter your fuel map that may help. Keep the heat down in the motor as well, mine does it a lot more when going slow and beating on the clutch.

Good throttle control seems to be the best and cheapest fix.
