When I was trying to sort out my jetting and before I settled for the LTR jetting I was using the N1EF #3 42PJ and 175MJ with good results but poor off idle response(sputtered). The 2002 models should be jetted way leaner than the 2007-2008 models. I would try the G nozzle with a 40 PJ and see the results.
Anyway just play with your jetting till you set your bike to your tastes. Every Gasgas is just a little different.
I think you will like the LTR needle with a #8 slide. I used this on my 2000 GasGas EC300 when there is decent traction and switched back to the #7 slide when it was slick. I leave the #7 slide in it now that it's my extra buddy bike.
Where i am ridding i dont realy need the traction. I need more hill climbing power. I hate the smooth delivery of the LTR this time of year. In the spring it will be great.
Have you had the head squish modified by RB Designs?
I noticed a significant low end pull increase, on hill climbs especially.
I was on a really steep hill on the Quicksilver and was amazed I could
shift up going up. (traction was perfect though).
My head is going to be shipped out later this month. It will also have a FMF TC2 spark arrestor, LTR powervalve cover, and a fresh and clean top end. I am looking foward to ridding it once it is all back together.
