Why I love my GasGas

Why is the Gasgas such a fine motorbike?, I dont know......
My bike spends as much time in the shop getting repaired, re-adjusted, re-tyred or lowered as it does in my garage.:(
Its kept me awake at night, me wondering why i dont just buy a Yamaha or Honda but I cant bear to sell out on her......er I mean it..:D

1. Its fuel injected
2. electric start
3. Unusual brand name
4. It's not one of those orange coloured bikes that every sheep buys.
5. Its not one of those blue coloured bikes that every sheep buys.
6. If a ranger finds me on crown land or a restricted land reserve and i
escape before he catches me I get a huge laugh when I see a poor
XR Honda rider getting hassled. (similar looking bikes):D :D
7. I'm the only one in my town who has one.
8. I take a lot of crap from my buddies about it but my Gasgas is the first
bike up the hills.
9. Gasgas riders are the nicest pp

10. Why dont other Gasgas riders continue this and add their thoughts......

Why I love my GasGas:
1) Handles like a dream in the tight stuff.
2) Rarely breaks down (usually my fault).
3) Zippy engine is a blast to ride.
4) Great suspension. Even better now that it's revalved for me.
5) I love the looks I get when people see my bike. A Gas-what?
6) Did I mention the handling in the tight stuff?

I'm sold on GasGas. Next year I'll be buying a new EC250 provided my bank account is good.

Motor rocks! Suspension rocks! Rocks in the rocks!
Just simply rocks! Too bad my older model is
Pink! Darn 90's and their flamboyant color schemes!
Although I guess it's better to be riding the pink
bike than getting passed by the pink bike! :D

Hey Fellas, new to Gas Gas. I have been interested in these bikes for about six years now and like most, was skeptical in regards to the availability of parts, service and support. However, thanks to the internet and specifically this web site, my concerns were put to rest and I purchased a new 05 EC 250 three months ago. I have been an orange guy for many years and still own an 04 EXC 300. I must admit, since buying the Gas Gas, I have not thrown a leg over the KTM. The overall performance, handling and balance is incredible and out of the box, the Zokes and Ohlins work well together and we definitely have a few rocks out here in Arizona. So, thanks to everyone for all your technical expertise and input and a huge thanks goes out to Les @ LT Racing, what a great guy.
Rider profile:
47 years old, 5.9 @ 165 lbs.
Was once a fast guy, but multiple shoulder and knee injuries/surgeries have resulted in discretion winning out over exuberance, I suppose now days I would be considered a B+ rider.
05 EC 250 equipped with:
E-line pipe guard
CRD Skid plate
CRD radiator guards
LTR jet kit
Power now and power now plus carb modes (FYI, you need both to gain true performance advantage)
LTR case saver
LTR chain guide
LTR power valve cover
Scotts steering stabilizer
Pro taper bars
Moose hand guards
ICO check mate enduro computer
Dunlop 803 trials tires ft and rear
Gas Gas 125cc shift lever
Gas Gas riders’ club tech tip (Under set tool storage mod)

Welcome, and good luck with your GG. Looks like you have a good setup as well.

I would not love my Gas Gas if it spent too much time in the shop. To the contrary, my 04 300 is probably the best bike I've ever owned. Reliable as a stone axe and much less vibration and smoother power delivery than the KTM 300s that I thought were so good before I rode a Gasser. In fact, I like it so much that when I decided to buy a sport quad, there was no other one I even considered than the 300HP. I've had it about two years and am totaly in love with it as well. Great products!

Gas what

I come home after 2 weeks at work fuel it up check oil & coolant, an get on it an just go hard & fast for a couple of days and park it wash it & leave for another 2 weeks an it will start first time each time ,now that is a great bike!:D

Why do I love my Gas Gas? Why am I on my third one?
Easy:

I loved my original '99 GG200 ec for it's superior handling, the 250 for the same, but more power, now the 300 for yet the same reason.

The bike is for me the best chassis out there, nothing else comes close to the turning prowess, or the planted feel. I waited weeks before mounting my Scotts damper, and while I think every bike needs one, it wasn't bad without it.

The Ohlins fork is absolutely incredible, never mind that old dead car parked in the middle of the trail, just ride right over it, the bike won't care, won't buck you off, and will keep going straight.

why i love my Gas Gas;

it handles like a dream,
inspires confidence in me,
will pull me out of the nasty situations i keep landing in,
great brakes,
awesome suspension,
easy to start,
nice and comfy to ride,
it flogs the guts out of my old CRF150f
and it will last me a few years.

my next bike will probably be a new EC250, or even 300, depends on how long i stick with the 200. at least 2 years though

love my Gas Gas

I love my Gas Gas '02 XC 300 because it pulls my large carcass around with no effort. It climbs hills like a mountain goat and lugs and chugs without complaining. Always starts well. Reliable as a rock. Great boingers(once adjusted) handles the tight stuff exceptionally. Forgives my mistakes(which are many). Long story short....what's not to like?

After owning many off road and motocross bikes I can truly say the gasser knocked my socks off, it really is an awesome bike to ride.....cant say its one thing or the other, it just has the X-Factor many new bikes dont have......out of all my bikes the most bland was the orange one......no offence to the katoom brigade...

gasgas = tank (in a good way!)

I like my gasgas 300 because it's built like a tank and may never break! Also now with the ltr jet kit and the sunny setting on my bike hauls like a wild banshee and I love that 300 POWER!!!!!

I love my Gas Gas cause of all the things you guys have said. Because of those great traits and quality's these bikes have made me faster, more confident and no doubt, a better rider.

Below I reiterate those great traits.

I believe the fact that the bike is equipped with a rear suspension linkage is key to the next 3 listed traits below.

Stability ( I have never ran a steering dampener with a Gas Gas, Les has always told me "if your suspension is set up right you don't need one").

Turning ability. (On a dime accuracy, as planted as a front end gets.)

Power delivery that hooks up. (No mater how sloppy the conditions.)

Reliability. (Takes a lot to break one of these)

Easy to work on and do maintenance. (Simple routine)

Reasonable parts cost for repair. (Better than most realize)

Comes pretty well ready to race. ( as good as, if not better than the rest)

Quality components stock. ( Aftermarket for many brands.)

Its different and draws attention where ever it goes.( always questions)

But the icing on the cake is, it looks far better than the competition doing what its built to do, Win! :D

I like my imaginary Gas Gas because it has six gears and with it, no need to wonder, "Should I go with an XC or and XC-W?"

Rick

Because the search for the ultimate bike is over :)

Untill they make a 350 4-stroke with injection and slipper clutch that weighs less than this one and costs less to buy and own, I'm not going to change.

Also, if the "other" company can't make their suspension work, they are simply not an option.

When this bike is all scratched and banged up enough, I'm simply getting a newer one.

Later :D

I love mine because it took me past my mate in a recent enduro on his 07 ktm 200, he was so miffed he pulled out of the race (he's a class above me) it's a scruffy 03 but it flies!

200 Ec

The look on my "ORANGE CREW" ridding group after throwing a leg over my (new to me) 01 200 is priceless, and guess what, yes parts are no more a problem than KTM. They all say what a good looking, well put togeather, somebody was thinking and paying attention to riders needs when the bike built. Thank You GAS GAS, and the only complant i have is yellow is a great color on the bike and should not have been deleated, instead should have been the main color with accent colors on the other models. Don

I've owned all three colors of Gas Gas. I think of all the colors my favorite to own was the red. Not because it was the most attractive, I agree the yellow was my favorite to look at, but because nobody ever mistook my 250 for a Honda. People all the time thought my 200 was a Suzuki, and people today often look in wonder and ask if my bike is a YZ with a lighting coil. I've begun to tell them yes, it's a new '08 yz 300, and is sold as an off road model. If they bite, I usually tell them that the music end of the business has sued the motorsports end, and has forced Yamaha to change their name to Gas Gas so that their pianos will never be mistaken for a motorcycle.:D

I put this in another post but if fits here just as well!!!

I can't count the times I have heard guys/dealers say the KTM hardparts gas cap works great. WTF--why don't they just put that on the bike----ohhhhh it costs a rediculous amount and everyone is buying it extra!!!!

GAS GAS puts the best parts on there bike from everything that works!

Buy the way---I rode an 06 EC250, my 2nd year racing it and just wrapped up the Expert 250 Championship in NETRA---battling right now for 4th overall but if anyone knows about parts availability its me and I have not seen a single issue with getting parts. And I don't need parts because they break I just wear them out.

Like what was said before there are so many crossover common parts it makes it easy to find common stuff.
Just a few I have worn out-
Throttle tube--honda
Cables--motion pro
Levers--honda---magura
Footpegs--yamaha
Front wheel bearings--suzuki
rear rim---excel
rear spokes---buchanan(sp)
Pipes---FMF if need be
clutches--DP--moose

These bikes are rock solid and stand up to a pounding--in fact I'm still running stock linkage stuff(2years)because the awesome seal(orings) are the best idea I've ever seen on a dirtbike--they just don't where out and lets the bearings last forever---I now think its a conspiracy for any manufacture to install regular seals because they wear out and demand replacement bearings$$$$

Also I ride in some of the rockies nasties stuff and have yet to derail a chain or mangle a chain guide--Best stuff taken from another brand--do not fool yourself and change it--it works! I've been on rutty nasty rides where I was the only bike that didn't derail a chain. I wasn't riding with any huskies though:):)

This bike is awesome and the distributorship is killing one of the best all around bikes ever made!

My 200 EC

Well the season is come to a stand still being its deer season in Michigan, my GasGas has proven flawless, Ive crashed,Ive rode hard,Ive crashed and re-worked the rear fender put a set of rear wheel bearings, cut the bars down to 30" and stoped crashing. Im getting faster every time I throw a leg over and My good friend has set the suspension settings this is the best bike ive ever ridden its a GasGas and what more can be said those who ride will buy and that fact will above all keep this brand alive and well. Thank You GasGas for building an excellent ride and Ill be looking to convert my brother next season to a 250ec. Don
