WTB new EC 300 >2009 in europe Racing or NAMBOTIN

ive heard from numerous suspension guys that this years ohlins shock is not good at all and that the sachs is a better choice. just my opinion but i would still research your purchase and not base it soley off a name on a shock. the new ec300 is a great choice and a revalve and spring is going to be a way better outcome imo than a stock ohlins unless its TTX

Yeah, I would say just find the best used bike available. If it comes with Sachs forks get the Ohlins TTX cartridges. If it comes with a Sachs shock get either the regular aftermarket std. Ohlins shock (which is not bad by any means) or spring for the spiffy big dollar TTX shock. This TTX stuff seems to be the real deal the more I read about it. Really good stuff and a price to match.

I would be really surprised if you could find any used Nambotin bikes unless it was a demo or test bike.

The sachs shock becomes still weak when you ride on motocross tracks.
I thinks a tuned Öhlins is OK :D
The Sachs fork is terrible to maintain.
I found a new 300 Nambotin for 8000€ but this is 1000€ to much.

Here in the US we have a VERY good tuner to work with the Sachs stuff (Les of LTR Racing) and fix many of it's issues and problems.

But again the more I read about the Sachs stuff I think it was a mistake for GG to start using it. Some nice 50mm Marzocchi forks and stick with a good Ohlins shock would have been much better IMHO.

Good luck in your search!

This spring Les updated, rebuilt, and tweaked the valving on my '07 Sachs. It is and always was as good as both of my previous GG Ohlins. When Fred Hoess raced GGs in '07, it was his choice as well, and if Fred was not limited by the Sachs shock you won't be either. Apparantly there were some changes after '07 that were not for the better, but may have been corrected. Call Les, he's the Sachs master and can explain everything. I don't know what Ohlins is on the new bikes but there was a version on some '07s that was a far cry from the previoue Gold Series, the Sachs was a better choice.

I cannot personally comment on the Sachs forks but from what is being said they are a major PIA. The LTR mods are not simple valving but address some engineering flaws.

This is one reason I don't have new bike fever so bad, what I have now works great.

Ask a Husky owner how many fork seals leak a year?

My shiver 45 seals leaks after 2 years race conditions.

Is a little bit to far for me and the p&p cost are to high.
