This is for a science project - I want to build a '12 or '13-based Q Stealth-based silencer that even GMP would be proud of.

I've got lots of GasGas parts :D available or we could trade some suspension work ...

Call me Steve. I've got a Q laying around.

Steve are you going to tray and retain the SA or just make a fat shorty?

Since I am a resident of Michigan and not Washington state or Colorado, there will be no "fat shorties" or :fat shorties":eek::eek:

I'm going to try to address a couple of different areas. Shortening the body should add some snap and rev to the power curve. The added benefit will be reduced weight, inertia, and leverage on the subframe in the event of a crash. I'm not sure if the SA portion helps retain any other internal features or not - if not I may try to make it more easily removable - but for now I will concentrate on just relocating it.

All of this without getting too loud ...

Oh, its got to be from a '12 or '13.

I've shortened a KTM300 "hockey stick" in the past with good results. Try a slightly larger core dia. and see what you think. The old Dynoport pipes/silencers were built like this and worked well as a rule.
