It's unfortunate that we need to get the outer basket on these bikes. Some bikes run rekluse fine without it but not the gassers. All said and done my rekluse cost around $1400 Canadian. Not cheap, but that's the high cost of high performance. The guy above me is probably right about setting...
So it turns out that JDs jetting was pretty good.
My theory is that my auto clutch wedges were wearing out or were the wrong weight.
I replaced the 11b wedges with 12a wedges. i believe that the heavier wedges will let the engine spin a little faster before engaging and therefore will allow it...

2011 ec 300. Just did the piston and power valve. When I took apart the case halfs I took the water pump shaft out. The plastic gear is worn where the cogs meet the metal drive gear so I plan on replacing it. The water pump shaft surface where it meets the inboard case bearing looks...
So i went for a rip today, and it seems to be sorted out.
It did stall once, but other than that it was solid for a 2 hour ride.
Im glad and lucky it was sorted out one the first try.
