    Well, this isn't good

Yeah, that little "protest" by the workers was long after my bike was built, thankfully!

A blast from the past! This is old video that I reprocessed of back when I still had my awesome '05 GasGas 250. Hope you like it!

Is a full rebuild worth it for a 2008 GasGas EC300? (Cylinder + Piston)

To adjust the power valve you must remove the power valve governor, disassemble it, and change out the shims that set the spring length. More shims, later but harder power hit. Less shims, the power comes in earlier but softer. As for jetting, that was a long time ago and, because of what and...

Is a full rebuild worth it for a 2008 GasGas EC300? (Cylinder + Piston)

More aggressive? Man, my '05 was a beast! Big thing for me was getting the carb jetting dialed in. I picked up a lot of power just right there. Otherwise, I would make sure the head squish is good and run an expansion chamber that is better in the mid-high power range. On the power valve...

    Well, this isn't good

Thanks guys. From the look of the pieces it looks to me like it was the outer part of a roller bearing going by the 90 degree angles on them but no such bearing is currently coming apart. Sadly, no metallurgist friends. On the history, I have no clue what the original owner had with it and the...

Is a full rebuild worth it for a 2008 GasGas EC300? (Cylinder + Piston)

Opinion piece... I completely rebuilt and modified a '90 KDX200 just over 14 years ago. At that time the bike was already 22 years old. Was it worth it? To me it was! Loved that bike. Did the same with my '05 GasGas EC250. I would still be riding that bike if it hadn't been stolen. Did the...

    Well, this isn't good

Ok, I have checked, literally, everything in the bottom end that is there. I still can find no evidence of any bearing coming apart. Also no signs of damage other than where the loose primary nut was rubbing the outer case cover and the Rekluse clutch cover seems to have been machined a little...

    Well, this isn't good

Debris is magnetic. Pieces are roughly 4 to 5mm long and 2 to 4mm across. I haven't looked at it again yet but I found no evidence of anything other than the primary nut being loose and one water pump bearing feeling a little rough. Everything else appears perfect.

    Well, this isn't good

I'm in a total state of confusion. I have completely disassembled my engine yet I can find no failed bearing anywhere. I even went so far as disassembling the transmission shafts and everything looks good. I only have one bearing, the inner water pump, that feels a little rough but that's it...
