    Storm Sandy

it's a 4am surprise. went from rain to 16" snow in 4 hours. leaves were on the trees, so all trees became 1/2 height, and twice as wide :)

    APT SmartCarb

so basically, no adjustments needed for elevation or temperature change. right? once it's set up once, there is no need to ever touch it? unless you need to compensate for loss of compression/ring wear/etc?

i didn't see temperature fluctations addressed (or maybe i missed it)... is it just a 1 click change from say 30 degrees to 90 degrees? or maybe that's too simple - 1 click richer every 20 degree temp drop as long as elevation stays the same?? my main issue with the pwk is not getting a...

    coolant leakage

does coolant look good or is there an oily film or any discoloration? if no, then it's not exhaust gas. is it a 1.2 or 1.4 cap? if it was mine i'd: a: remove cap, start bike, watch coolant swirl a bit. this just checks waterpump operating properly - let it come up to temp a bit, it...

    coolant leakage

    Another jetting issue(imagine that)

i cut 3 notches on the left side of my grip (on every bike i own...) , and i make a reference mark on the throttle itself. - 1 at closed, 1 at 1/2, and 1 at wot. that way i can look down and see where i'm at at any time. when i'm riding - you'd be surprised where you're actually at on the...

    Jetting and Vibration

this doesn't seem right - larger diameter = leaner. should vibe less. did you change anything else?

    Jetting and Vibration

richer definitely vibes much much more.. but this is not necessarily a sign that you're too rich - gotta give motor what it needs, whether that causes vibes i dunno...

loading up after new top end?

i advanced it a mm or so. somewhere along the line i must have set it back to stock timing, cuz that's where it was at when i took the cover off. no wonder it was flat in the middle. i have to remember that when you think it's jetting, sometimes it's ignition :)
