09' 200- CDI switch? Does it exist ?

Picked up a pretty much new 09' 200.

Can I put a CDI (sun/rain) switch on it like my 10' 300 has?

Or maybe on a 200 it won't be worth the fuss?

Thanks!

J

p.s. What is the correct term for the switch?

It's called "ignition map switch". The manual says:

Your GAS GAS has an ignition map switch with two positions.
In position 1 the behavior and engine power delivery is more aggressive, suitable
for terrains with good grip and / or experienced riders.
In position 2 the performance and power delivery are more progressive, suitable
for slippery surfaces and / or inexperienced riders.

If it works to change the CDI with a newer model I think you might be able to put the switch also. I do not have experience and knowledge if it can be done (putting a newer CDI) so try to search info about that.

I knew "map" was in there somewhere. Thanks for the info.

Now to determine if my 09 is compatible

Thanks

Welcome :p

Here you can find more info on the matter http://dirtrider.net/forums3/threads/gasser-ec-200-dual-map-ignition-switch.140666/ and http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=232 (mid 05' and up should be easy to do, basically you need to connect two wires under the seat for the "rain" mode, be careful tough make more research and/or ask a dealer/mechanic not to fry anything)

Tried out my '07 200 on the weekend.
Then near the end of the ride I remembered the map switch, flicked it over and holy cow the power/hit so a lot different/stronger. (This is coming from someone who it's their first ever ride on a 2-stroke) :D

I only switched it when the bike was off, is it allowed to switch when bike is on? Or can this fry the CDI?
