'11 EC 300 seat question....

I bought the bike used. The two pieces that fit together thru the rear of the seat to create the passage for the bolt that secures the seat to the sub-frame, have always just come apart when I remove the seat. Also, it's kind of a pain to get the seat back on with the bottom piece falling into the airbox often. I'm guessing these parts are supposed to be stuck together somehow thru the seat. If so, how? 2011 EC 300

One of those will make life easier, otherwise a piece of milk bottle plastic cut as an interference fit under the seat to keep the bolt in place will help. ( ie make a washer out of the milk bottle plastic that doesn't come off the bolt, replace when needed)

The plastic washer on the bottom is a tight fit on the screw. It will "thread" up and down the screw so everything stays captive. The washer hole is worn out or someone drilled it oversize.
