120-100-18 fit or hit?

One of my sponsors threw me a free tire last time I was in. It looks very, very wide! Maybe too wide. It is a kenda Millville K771 intermediate to soft terrain compound. Never tried one.

Anyone try running a 120 on a 07 or 08 EC300?

Worried about exhaust clearance. Seems like there is more room back there on the 08 than the 04 or 06 models exhausts allowed. But it seems to me both those were coming equipped from the factory with 100's stock. My 110 rubbed on both of those bikes exhaust if it was tweaked a bit.

In real world experience with this wide size would be appreciated, and that particular model and brand of tire.

Thanks,
Roscoe

Don't know for sure. It depends more on the diameter of the tire than the width. I mounted a 150-60-17 on my FSE and it fit just fine. Right now I have a 120-80-18 on with lots of space. Thing is, I have an unmounted 120-100 out in the garage, without mounting it, I could give you my best guess in the next few days as I will be removing the rear tire and working on the mounting of my DRZ SM tire and wheel.

For specs... the 150-60 is 6.250" wide but only has a dia of 24.5"
The Maxxis knobby 120-100-18 is 5.5" wide but has a dia of 26.5"

Hope this helps.

Do the newer bikes have a narrower swing arm on the inside that would limit the tire size?

I was running a 140/80/18 S-12 on my 99 EC200. The 140 fit just fine. Have now switched to a 120/100/18 Maxis,

I put on a Maxxis IT 120/100x18 on my bike and it was too big. I could have still used it if I added links to my chain, but that would not have worked for me. The tire was too tall and the farther back on the swing arm, the higher it lifts the bike too.

I have a Maxxis IT 110/100x18 on my bike now, but it still rubs the silencer. The adjustment is about the center.
