I have just finished going over the 300 for tomorrows 5hour pony express race, a bit nervous being my 1st but i guess i will just treat it like a trail ride but try and maintain my best possible pace. Pretty sure everything i needed to do is done so on the trailer in the morning and get outta town!! Wont be taking the gopro but i will give a report as to how the bike and myself hold up :D

Good luck mate! From your other videos it seems you've got no problems throwing that three hungey around! Enjoy!

Try not to be nervous....eaiser said then done!!! It is hard to control when your sitting on the line ready to go and everyone is jazzed up!!!!

Watch your breathing, pick good lines, try not to follow the rider in front of you....pace yourself......and then go for the kill....live to ride another day....most of all HAVE FUN:D

Unfortunatly no trophie :( Suprising myself i came in after the 1st lap in 3rd then my partner took off in good form however one of the creek exits was nasty as a $4 hooker at closing time!! He got hung up for about 10 or 12 minutes which kind of set us back haha. He came back in at 8th or 9th somewhere, I took off again and pulled back 2 places in that lap. He managed to put good lap times in as we tried to make up for lost time, I plucked another one on the next lap after my partner put a good effort in closing the gap for me. We ended up finishing 5th in our class and without his little mishap we would have claimed 3rd as they finished 6minutes ahead of us  Thats racing though and we had a blast. The track was really testing for suspension and i really need to spend some time dialing it in as the back end seems to have too much rebound and the front could do with a bit more of a steddy up on the the rebound also. My jetting was a bit tiring for me in a race but i wont change it as the bike is great for fun trail riding which is what i do most. All in all we had a great day and the only probs with the bike were my fault, I snapped the rubber stand holder by forgetting it was on and just throwing my leg weight on it, I popped the left rear shroud out by having a little off in the practice lap:o And i put a nice golf ball ding in the expansion chamber  Gonna need to have a yarn to wence to see how he found his suspension before tampering with it so i can get an idea on where to point things.

Nice report and congratulations on the placing! Sounds like a blast. Have you tried running the bike in the wet map as a means of taming down the hit? Suspension suspension.. Seems to be the flavour of the month!

Hey it sounds like you had fun and thats what it should be about. So you guys race tag team on the same bike?

Nato,
Good work mate.
The suspension sounds like what mine was like. I had originally set up sag etc and wound on shock spring preload till it was right which gave me a rebounding front and rear end, ( felt like it was seesawing front to back and was hard work to ride quick for too long.
I have since backed off the spring preload to 9-10 mm on the shock and then played around with the clickers on the front and back until it was not rebounding.
I am not sure of the positions of the clickers as I just changed it till it felt the best it could but I know the fork has 2 turns on the PFP and the rebound is dampened fully( all the way Clockwise).
Basically the bike now has a rear end that feels like it is a floating carpet( very nice), and a front end that is as good as it is gonna get.Still better thamn the 07 though.
Good luck with it, I will be getting new springs and getting a revalve on the forks in the near future.
Cheers Mark

It is tag team with either 1 bike or seperate bikes we used seperate bikes he was on a yzf 450.

Cheers wence i will be looking in to that.

I have not done a lot of suspension tuning jake but i feel that everything else on the bike is finely tuned why not one of the most important bits? I did not put it to rain mode as i would feel like a castrated dog haha its gotta be on the sun :D

Hahah I hear ya Nato.

I'm delving into this Suspension stuff myself at the moment. Need to get out and push some laps to really start feeling the difference in settings back to back.
