A lot of the DE (Dealer Editions) came with the full Ohlins package, all GasGas came with Ohlins shocks, and there will always be a discussion, depending on who you're talking to, as to the advantages or disadvantages of the full Ohlins setup. Ohlins is top of the line in many peoples minds, but a competent tuner can have the Shiver/Ohlins setup working very good, even on a side by side with full Ohlins. What I have taken from discussions here is that the Ohlins fork is a 'bling' option, (but a dang nice one IMO).

Definitely not a downside but not necessarily an upside. While I'm not privy to the exact details, I do know the Ohlins fork requires a few special tools for servicing. GMP or one of the other more knowledgeable people may chime in but that gives you something to digest until then

Standard fork on 2000 - 2003 was 43mm WP. Ohlins fork was on 2001 SE models and optional on 2002 & 2003. I don't remember ever seeing Ohlins forks stock on a 2000, but probably was an option (anythings possible with GasGas). I had an 01 and 03 with WP forks and another 03 with Ohlins fork option. Ohlins was MUCH MUCH better than the WP. However, I don't think the performance is any better than the revalved 45mm Shivers I have now. I probably would prefer the Ohlins fork over the Shiver for durability reasons though.

Hey, tnx for all the quick and informative responses. Ill post some pics of it later today, looks like a great buy and enduro sled
