hey guys
this is my first post here ive been looking for an introduction thread but couldnt find one so forgive me if i come across rude by jumping straight in with questions lol.

my name is ken im from newcastle uk just purchased my gas gas ec200 2 days ago and with the age of the bike you can guess its a little tatty well its not too bad but not to my standards.

ive just spent yesterday dropping out the engine and taking off all the electrics etc so its a rolling chassis.
currently coing to work on the cromoly frame buffing out the surface rust etc ready for rebuilding the bike.

upon closer inspection the wiring harness has been butchered to a point where wires are taped together and the rest are just cut and hanging, the bike ran perfect and the brake lights work and the headlight worked but it was running a none road legal light (no high or low beam) there was no horn or indicators on the bike and the speedo is an ill fitted trailtech vector.

can any of you guys point me to a wiring diagram or even point me to someone who has one forsale or who can manufacutre one for me?

the engine is freshly rebuilt and clean as a whistle runs well with no knocks with plenty poke the frame is straight the only thing i am not confident with is the electrics.

was manybe thinking about doing the wiring for the engine to run then a seperate harness for lights?
what you guys think?
appreciate your time and input people :)

cheers

Welcome to the family! If you are interested in making revisions to the wiring yourself, here are a few wiring diagrams that you may find helpful. While these are not specific to your bike, they should be pretty close.

Thank you both for the reply's guys I really appreciate your input.

I'm thinking a whole original style harness then the connectors unused I'll use some shrink wrap and cable ties on there!
But I'm open to all options indeed!!

Previous owner must have been on drugs to do the chopping he did

Cheers
Ken

Bought this...
Got my fingers crossed I can rewire the bike although I have labeled the connectors on other harness I should be able to identify the new connectors if I put them side by side!

This is the missing link, can't wait to get all the parts.
I've bought

Plastics
Seat cover
Hand guards
Pegs
Front light
Rear led light tail tidy
Rust treatment
Wax spray (for underneath frame and all the nooks)
Fork seal saver
Trailtech vector sensor and magnet
Coil
Banjo bolt switches

Just need
Hand grips
Dints pushed out of expansion chamber
Airbox panels
Full size numberplate

Then I'm all ready for mot

Cheers
Ken
