I need help.
I have the following spring on my 2006 300ec. 00596-10/52L395
I got NO CLUE what weight that rate is for...
Please can someone tell me what this spring is for ? (weight wise..)

Sure wish there was some info about spring rates and weights they are for (I AM BLEEDING from my eyes after trying to find some info with no avail! )

Please help if you ccan

This is my last hope =(

I can't tell you but it could be a 5.2 which would be standard on many EC's. But the length can't be 395mm if it's off a GasGas! That looks way too long. If it is the standard spring I guess they're ok for 140 - 170 lb rider but it really depends what terrain you ride and how fast. If you can get your static and rider sag correct without more than 10mm of preload then the spring should be ok.

I assume that's an Ohlins shock? I agree it's a 5.2 spring and for average weight rider 170lbs +/- about 20lbs either way.

You can contact Ohlins and get all the info you need about the shock including the original valving specs by giving them the # stamped into the upper shock body near the reservoir. They will also help you with spring choices if you wish.

The units on the spring rate is in Newton (per mm). So actually the spring rate is 52 Newton and to convert to the more commonly used kg measure you multiply by 0.10197 - which gives you 5.3 kg.

Another option for you is to call Les at LT Racing (aka LTR) - he has signed up to sponsor the forum here for 2009 (I still need to put together a banner ad and announcement for him & also gasgas usa signed up...)

Les stocks springs and specializes in revalving suspension for gasgas & husqvarna brands. He is familiar with the changes in valving in the gasgas over the years. You can find his website at www.lt-racing.com
