2007 GasGas to KYB SSS forks

Search my head thread if you want the motor even better. Looking forward to the next ride as we are in summer. Sadly some rain forecast for the Sunday.

That's a great thread lots of info some I got lost so had to go back to drinking beer that I understand, not sure how much better I want to make this motor it is an animal already but I might work on the Squish alittle.

Now I'm sitting here thinking of spring rates in the KYB SSS forks. For anyone that fitting them to a Gasser what spring did you end up with? I am 235 LBS without gear.

Thanks Scott

It will depend on the type of riding you do and how fast you ride. I would suspect you would be at about .50 kg. Race Tech has a nifty spring calculator that should get you in the ballpark.

I am running .44 kg (one .46 and one .42) springs in my KYB SSS and am about 185lb without gear.

That's about were I have ended up the last few bikes were .48 .50. I guess I will have to see. I might give a go at the revalve.

Hi Zman, how did you fix the stops to the frame? To be honest, the thought of welding stops on is the main thing that's stopping me swapping over to the YZ triples

Honestly I glued them on. If they wear out or get damaged I can replace them. I am 245 with gear and I ran 0.48 springs in mine.

If anyone is interested I have a near new set of 0.44 sss springs for sale $60.

Here is a couple of pics of what me and a mate done for my steering stop.
also with the Yamaha front end all finished

Note the mark he put in my triple clamp :o All good though

Just a little update, got the new forks mounted and what a simple job by using a complete YZ front end. For the stops I found some at the RV store for entry doors. Cut about 3/8" off the top of them and worked out out well.
