2009 vs 2014 engine.

HI,recently I found a very good ( technical) bike GG ec 250 2t 2014. My bike ec 300 2009 work and look very good also but I want to try a bike with e-start. My fear is the power of 250,I'm coming from bigger engine... And the reliability,is the same or better? And finally the height,how much in plus?

If the 250 does not have enough power, you can always do a big bore kit or install a 300 top end as they are interchangeable between the 250 and 300.

If the 250 does not have enough power, you can always do a big bore kit or install a 300 top end as they are interchangeable between the 250 and 300.

As above, if you don't like the 250, just swap out the top ends (jug, piston, head) between the two bikes. However, I have read that 300 riders (mostly) prefer the 250 once they make the change, because the power difference is minimal, but the vibrations are reduced on the 250 making it easier to use the top end power.

The power difference is noticeable.. off idle and in the lower mid.

The 250 will still chug down though, and imo is more manageable off the pipe as it takes more wrist action before you get the big surge of power coming through. It's like it offers a longer, mellower bottom end.. and then compensates by coming to life harder and faster later in the rev range.

Less vibrations, less fatigue, less inertia makes it feel lighter and more nimble, and in general just more fun. Worth a try. If you don't like it drop a 300 jug and head on.

,let's say power is OK. And the kilograms ? I wish to think the newest bike is more compact,like Berg or Husky. My 09 bike rune super well,no complain,only the front suspension(Sachs) is hard to find the right balance.
One more thing,the sqish. Is smaller or likeon old bikes?

So,now I have new bike for me,ec 250e racing 2014. What I like: engine,very nice sound,more compact felling,very clean response,squish seams to be smaller. Rev very very high,higher then 300c,what I want to change is the power band, I need the power at the bottom,13-52(now 50) , jetting (now 42 N2ZJ#4 175)
Suspension is way better then Sachs..
The e-start is the best! With small modification will start every time (3 gaskets on ignition cover).
I need a wider handel bar also.

Now the down side : first is the weight, I feel it when I need to lift the bike,on trail is very light felling. My plan is to change the battery with lithium-ion battery, aluminum sproket and other small things. One negative part are the plastics, too fragile.

Overall I like the bike,is more compact and more electric felling.
