2010 Footpegs and Skidplate

Hi All

I am looking to add new footpegs to my 2010 ec200 and a light weight skidplate. Any suggestion?

I have just ordered the moose hybrid footpegs, will let you know how they are as soon as i have them, and for skid plate i think the hyde skid plate is the best value for money out there

I put Moose foot pegs on my EC 200. They have a larger area for your foot and are offset slightly down and back to give a little more room to a tall guy. They seem really sturdy but they are not lightweight.

I've got the Hyde plate on my '10 and so far, so good. I did enlarge the oil plug access hole, so you can actually remove the plug, without droppng the plate.

I just can't warm up to the pipe guard though, because it's so damn ugly.;)

i kindof like the dead armadillo wrapped around the motor look lol. it does do a good job on rocks and such, im not sure about side impacts though. havnt had anything bad happen yet, so ill keep crossin my fingers. i may rebuild the front clamp though, i had to bend it to the right shape when i first got it. and ive heard the threaded holes come loose after a while.so i may just make a piece of plat steel and weld some nuts to it. over all i like it very much. a definite must is something to block mud from the front tire. the pipe guard is one giant mud trap without. chicken wire or foam.

for the record ... I am not a fan of the hyde guard/pipe combo the pipe gets dented through the guard and it traps and transports most of th e mud you drive through.

If you have a 2t i would say go hyde sump guard and P3 carbon fibre exhaust guard

I think that if you hit something hard enough to dent the pipe through the Hyde you will break a CF guard and/or bend the header. I've wrecked pipes with CF guards few times in the past. You can live with minor dents, they do nothing to performance, plus they are easy to fix. Kinked headers are another matter.

We need a cage, thats modular to a skid plate.

pegs and skid plate

Current late model YZ pegs will fit so you have many options. I have hyde standard skid plate that works well for my use, light, mounts easy e-nuf, and holds up well in sand.

Hey guys, I seen a alum skid plate/pipe guard comb on a Husky somewhere on the web,but for the life of me I just can't remember who made it.

Thanks a mill, will post pics of my bike shortly, got a crd carbon guard! Does anyone know the exact foot pegs that will fit my bike? The stock are rubbish in heavy slop, which we have lots of in Ireland

I have YZ250/450 Fastway pegs on my GG 300. If you will go to their application chart, you will see the part numbers are the same for Yamaha and Gas Gas.

tried out my moose hybrid foot pegs and they are fine while you using them, but they have razor sharp outer teeth that catch and cut everything in their way, so will be filling them down before my next ride.

they made a brand new pair of SG12's look v second hand in one ride as a result!

they also seem slightly higher than stock as i now need to adjust my gear lever

Does anyone know which pegs can be run lower than stock? I know the Fastways can be run in the lowboy position but I was wondering if any of the others could as well.

I had considered the Moose pegs but at 6'3" I would really like a little drop on the pegs. In this thread one person says they are lower and another says the opposite.

I bought a set of Moose pegs that were offset down and back a little 1/2" maybe. I'm 6'6" and need all the space I can get. I got them from Hall's in Springfield.

I put the moose hybrids on my 2011 EC too....they do seem pretty sharp at the edges..its winter here now and have not rode with them yet

and I thought they seemed a bit higher..possibly due to the curved design ???

they do seem pretty high quality... maybe too strong.....I'm just worried they wont bend or tear up like the stockers and save the rest of the bike like the last pair did......

i think for motorcross or flat out riding they are fine, but if you going to be riding rocks or anything where you need to paddle your feet they going to catch and cut. I will be taking the grinder to those outside teeth before my next ride. Also need to trim a bit on the brake side as it hits the brake before it reaches the fold stop

I think you can also get them with offsett to drop them

I got Fastways for a YZ250. Mount up fine on 2010 xc300 and can be set in lowered position. Got them new off eBay for $69 and come with 2 sets of cleats. Bought a scorpion aluminum skid plate from gofasters. Probably not the lightest one around but provides good protection.
