I'm sure this has been discussed, and I did a few searches, but wasn't able to find the answer.

Will there be a 2012 EC 200 (standard or Racing)? Is it coming to North America?

Thanks

All of the bikes coming to the US will be "Racing" spec, and yes there will be a 200. How many would you like? :D

Thanks Twowheels. Seen ETAs for 300s and 250s, but nothing about 200s. I didin't even see 200s on the spanish GG website, so I was wondering if they were pushing out the 200s out for a 2013 model release.

I'm guessing still too early to know when the 200s will be coming out and if the E-start will be available on those (not that a 200 needs one, but I think my wife would appreciate it)?

I just read where Clay said the 2012 200's would be out in about 60 days. I'm also pretty sure the 200's won't come with the e-start but you can get the kits at a lower cost for the 2012's and install one if you like.

Thanks for the info. I can't seem to find the thread you are talking about where Clay said 60 days, but that sounds good for me timing wise.

Can you point me to the thread? I'm wondering if there are any specs yet. Nothing posted on the Spanish site yet. Wondering if it will be the 250/300 frame with a 200 engine or will have a slightly smaller frame.

Now my wife needs to decide if it will be Schnitzel or Paella!

Thanks

Sure it's in the thread "2012 300 Race pics" page 5 post #46. The 200's will still be buit on the 250/300 frames and from whay I've gathered that's not a bad thing. They will look just like the 250/300's and will be a few lbs lighter.

Short of a total redesign of either the engine or the frame they cant do something similar to what ktm have done. The 200 has the same size cases as the 250 and 300, so it needs a frame with an engine cradle the same size. If GG were to put the 200 engine as it stands into a smaller frame, they would do the same with 250 and 300. Even so, the 125 frame is still the same size as the bigger bikes, just the engine cradle is smaller to accommodate the smaller engine.

Not to be-labor the discussion, but while the 200s share many of the same parts with its 250 and 300cc siblings, the 200 has unique crankcases (to match primary and secondary volumes) and a unique exhaust pipe.
