I just received my pipe guard from e-line,and the fit is off. I am aware they dont make one for the 200 but took a chance. Does anyone know of any euro
manfu. that may help. Thanks

They are junk anyway, made in China. For the best protection get the Hyde combo for an '11, it fits good with a minor mod for a rear mount. If thats too much, a cheap aluminum Moose bend it yourself guard is no worse than an eline.

2012 xc200 pipe guard

Thanks Jakobi,
I've been waiting two months for my first order from motorcrosscenter
Think I'll try Hyde.

Not everyone likes the Hyde, its not cheap, not the best looking, and some just can't get past plastic(polymer). BUT, it ties the pipe guard section to the rame and that is all important for max protection. Separate pipe guards are simply ding protectors that make header damage worse, thats all.

The '11 Hyde fits a '12 very well. We will be setting up my buddy's new 250R with a Hyde next week, he had no problem going that route after seeing my two bikes with them. I'll take some pics and detail the rear mount/mod I did. The front holes line up perfect with the '12 frame tabs and its off in seconds for cleaning and oil changes. I don't even run the clamps on the pipe section.

Force in Austrailia now makes an alloy integrated guard like the Hyde, but its VERY expensive buy the time it gets here.

It does not fit the pipe tight on any bike, more of a gappy
fit that can be tightened up with the clamps if desired. This is good as it provides clearance for the guard to flex in a hit. Skid plate foam keeps the mud collection under control.

Agree that the Hyde does provide more cushioning in the event of impacts where the wrap around guards only prevent dings and then transfer impacts into bending the header elsewhere.

I'm not fond of the look of the Hyde, and in my conditons I would have to remove it after every ride to clear it of mud and debris. Even as it is now I am blown away by the amount of leaf litter that gathers under the bashplate. If I rode more rocky terrain I'd probably have opted for the Hyde.

Hope it all bolts up nicely for you.

What was causing the delay with your motocrosscenter order? Usually I find the emails back and forward and confirming the prices and payment takes longer than the actual postal times.

Jakobi,
Yes there responce time is about a week.I have asked if i can eliminate the keyed switch using a different wiring harness,or by some other means using stock parts. I would rather not splice my harness. Which is not looking good at the moment.AMA rules state there must be a thumb operated kill switch on the bars. Please correct me if im wrong. Thanks

John

Sounds like you got an American XC200R with a Euro harness? What they had left no doubt.

I had an '03 EC250 with the full harness, that ended up on the garage floor in pieces when I was done. All you need is a few wires, its easy enough to just wire your own if you want to remove and save the OEM harness. My '12 came with extra brake light and tach wires that I pulled off too. The light is a bit more of a mess than it needs to be too and all of the connectors are not waterproof anyway. I stripped it down and use a flat trailer light connector for the light that I can unplug easily and tuck behind the number plate that is on most of the time anyway. Toggle switch on the light shell, and one power wire (switched) back to the tail light. Enduro legal simplicity.

I just put a P3 on my '12 300 and I'm very impressed with the quality. There's been a lot of talk on the delivery time but to me it was well worth the wait. And the price isn't far off from e-line or EE. The thickness is almost twice as thick as the e-line.

Sorry for the confusion Glenn,
The parts from motocross center are for my 2012 250e-start. My fault.
I did order part #ee10000043012 from go fasters which did not plug and play.
It did plug into the 200's harness. So now i've got hi-low beams/killswitch/horn.
instead of two switches on the left. Mark went on to say the dif. is e-start & non e-start. Obviously. The 200 also has the tach plug there as well. My e-start had none of that, not even hi beams just low... I read a few months ago about your harness issues. Just didn't want to go down that road. Well i'm off to get some nice crimpers and connectors. Thanks

John
