I suspect this is where all the R&D resources have been spent. Why? Don't get me wrong, I love me some Rally and that bike is Bitchin' to the Nth degree. In fact I'm building up my WR with a little rally style fairing. But why put so much into a bike that you can't sell to the largest market, the US? Who is even going to ride it? They just let their ace pilot walk for KTM a month before Dakar???

I would rather them make good on warrantying (sp?) the 2012 eff ups than piss away resources on a one off bike that nobody will buy, nor will any rider win on.

Alas, this is GasGas though, it is the way they roll...

What's up with the Ohlins shock.......Reiger shock sticker on the bike?

Other than that.....the bikes looks very cool!

Tales of the oddball stuff

That bike reminds me of that colossus tire
Kinda ugly and gaudy but Cool!
And I'd like to have one
Stoby

The more I look at it, the more Iproduction based it looks, rather than a "on off"Raid Rally bike.
Euro market sales?

My guess is that they had the photographer already booked ;)

Same guy that left the Ohlins on set the rear brake pedal height ...

If I had to have a big four-stroke, this would fit the bill.

Yep, Yamaha won't let GasGas sell their motors in North America. I don't blame them, but let's be real, Gas Gas isn't a sales threat to anyone's market share.....

They won't bring them in even if they could. they could never get rid of the 4 strokes in Canada or the US when they were still bringing them in a few years back. Small market only a few die hards want them.

250

Wasn't the 250 yamaha bike here?I never saw one course i've never seen many gassers but i thought they were here

There was one here that was personally brought over by a racer on the east coast and then he had it up for sale(for big cash) the importer never brought them in

The WR-engined 250s were imported in 2010. Daniel Janus (and a few others) loved the bikes, but they were very rare. The new restrictions on importation (from either GG or Yamaha) seem to have taken effect in 2011 or 12.

Yes that's what I know of it as well we had a few in 2010 when I bought my Nambo and they couldn't give them away that was the last year I seen one. Is like to try one with the new yamaha motor though I bet it rips

I have a 2011 and after getting things sorted from the previous owner it is pretty special...Not going to sell my 300 or anything, but it is pretty nice.

At least they are going to try and sell it and it's not just a one off for publicity. It is drop dead sexy.

Can you imagine the number of bugs amongst all those different components???
