How did you attached the license plate on a 2018?
Apparently I did it wrong! Somewhere on Sundays 100 mile ride, it broke, so there is 3/4 of license plate somewhere in New Hampshire or Vermont.

What are your license plates made from? Did you mount it on the lower plastic part or did you remove it back and mount it up high?

Copy the plate, shrink it down to 80% and laminate it. I haven't lost one since. I guess you must have lost it at the Ammo.

Our plates are cheap stamped metal. I only mounted with two bolt sideways. I guess the vibrations where to much for the plate.

Yeah we ride Saturday and Sunday. Saw you with Rick, you were pulling into both gas stops as we were leaving. Started riding Saturday at 61 and ended up being 62 by the time we finished on Sunday

I can recommend heavy duty velcro strip. It is self adhesive and is very good at absorbing vibration. I use the 2 inch wide version and cover the whole of the flat area from directly below the light lens.

Trim the tape to the shape of the mudguard, offer up the plate and trace around to match and apply the opposing velcro to the plate back. Cross lay the 2 sections, ie top to bottom on one and left to right on the other. It grips very strongly and it stop you pulling the velcro off the mudguard or plate.

A 2" x 4" patch is rated as being able to hold 15 lbs. If you do crash, it will detatch on impact rather than breaking the plate and you can just press it back on. Any dirt build up can be brushed off with a stiff brush to restore the grip strength.
