300 cdi?

Got a feeling my RM125 CDI is biting the dust, similar acting to when the 300 one died. Seems to hit a certain RPM then cough and sputter like hell;

I've gone up and down 2 main jet sizes to eliminate jetting. (170, 174, 178)

I've changed the HT coil, no change (though the old one was damaged)

2 years ago I replaced the stator coil with an electrex model, this didn't fix the problem before, I also coated the IGN coil with silicon to ensure no water ingress.

Can anyone tell me the earth points on this bike?

Obviously the RM125 CDI was second hand, and due to 125's being so high revving I'm wondering if it was already deteriorating at a higher RPM than the 300 can achieve, and has perhaps deteriorated further?

Where is a good place to pick up CDI's from?

I think the earth's are on the coil might be worth taking it of and cleaning and oil. Check the lead and cap to sometimes the wire in the lead breaks down. Just snip the ends of of its long enough

Ignitechs are good, I've two of them, but you need to have 12V supply so your rec/reg & charge ccts needs to be working, mine isn't on my 300, must get round to fixing it so I can get the lights going one day & if I ever need to get a new CDI. Software is pretty simple for the programmable ones, but it would be nice to copy existing. And the rain setting wouldn't work anymore.

i ordered the one from the link i posted, works amazingly!

let this be a lesson, never use non-resistor type spark plug caps!
