48 MM Fork Seal Press Fit

Had to finally replace the seals on the 48MM Marzocchi. Bought a pair of SKF and found the press fit into the tube was loose. I also had a pair of 48MM MSR for my KTM and the package also said for Gas Gas. These too were loose. I wrapped a little teflon tape around the SKF seals and they pressed in fine. Rode wth them and eveythig is sealed tight. I would also point out that he stock selas were pressed in tight and needed a normal amount of force to remove. I'm not sure what brand the stock seals are but I will go back to stock on next change. Would like to hear what others experience.

If you still have the old seals get your calipers onto them and spec up the size. While 48mm seals will all have an ID of 48mm the height and OD can vary a little bit from one fork to another.

When I had mine done the guy used kyb bushings and seals. He said the seals were a little tighter fit than the Zokes seals.

Suspension guy used KYB's on my 48's recently. Same as above, tight fit.

Measured the MSR seals 58mm This is what the package said. I no longer have the stock seals so I could not measure.

Plus they are made in the USA.
