Anyone using one of these? I am thinking of replacing my factory subframe with one of these and was curious about the fit and finish of them.

Thanks Blitz.......but I was hoping to get a little feedback on the fit and finish of them before I bought one. Are you using one?

.........and your welcome Nhrider.

Hi Sholley1,

I don't have one, so I can't comment. But, I have to TIG weld my subframe every year, not so much for crashing, but because the body work wears grooves in the tubes. I am a hack welder, but I can do a pretty decent job of patching it back together. It's easy AL to weld. If it gets beyond repair, I'll try and AC.

I know that the XR guys often buy the AC Racing subframe (you can go to thumpertalk.com and search subframe under the XR category) and that they are happy with them. I can't comment first hand, though.

Mark or Steve from Gofasters will be honest with you. Just give 'em a holler.

Good luck.

I needed a subframe for my kids '04 and Mark said the AC units were much better than the stockers but they were out of them at the time (2 weeks ago) and waiting for AC to make a new batch. He said they were less expensive than the GG ones too. I bought a steel subframe from a '98 KX250 off of Ebay, it was almost a perfect fit. The welded nuts need popped off (the subframe) where the seat tabs line up and the left shroud mount tab is offset on the KX piece. I didn't notice that right away so I ended up shimming it to align the plastic but will eventually trim it off and turn it around for a perfect fit.
