The price. It's anticipated to be 2/3 that of a Sherco or Gasser. The feeling in the trials world is that the market cannot bear another vendor. The price was presumably kept so low because it's a straight rip-off of the Sherco and hence didn't need the expensive development work that Gas Gas & Sherco pour into their products (well Gas Gas at least but that's another story, pm me if you want details, I can't put those details on a public board).

We live in interesting times.

looks very cheap,no front guard on the sprocket either?? surprised that dude "let" you link his photos,he seems very anal about letting people do that:rolleyes:

Wait 'til the Chinese start making trials bikes.....:D

I guess everyone's entitled to their better "mouse trap".

I think the market here in the u.s. has the riders wanting "the best" not "the cheapest". And riders who went 4 stroke are now favoring the lighter "pro" models. I haven't seen a quality motorcycle come out of china yet - but it will probably happen over time. A few glossy photos and a low price doesn't equate to a "profound effect on gasgas" - seems like quite a leap to me...

Apparently Ryan Young (RYP) is so pi$$ed at Xispa he bounced them (Xispa also make kids bikes and Ryan Young imports Shercos.)

Well that's what everybody's thinking, that it's Chinese.

Just think what the knock on effects might be.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Xispa is a Spanish company. Of course anything can be made in China, but I didn't see any new release stating it's Chinese made.

At this point, I wouldn't even consider a chinese bike. I don't look at their ads, read their reviews, nothing. The only experience I've had with any of the chinese bikes are the pit bikes a few friends picked up...the things were destroyed the first day out. Anyway, that's my 2 cents...if these are chinese.

Andy's fine if you give him credit. Fair enough really.
oh ya hes a real peach!got this response from him, even after giving trials central credit for all photos and text
As the owner of Trials Central I note you are hotlinking to my copyright photos and using my bandwidth to serve your site. This is considered bandwidth theft and costs me money. You are also copying and pasting copyright textual content from Trials Central. Again, this is breach of copyright. Please cease and desist immediately and respect the many hours of work that goes into providing the content Trials Central provides. People who have done this in the past and not complied with my requests to respect my copyright have found some pretty distateful images on their websites as links are easily redirected...

Whenever possible I try to avoid Chineese products. I would never knowingly buy a Chineese bike or Chineese bike parts. I specificly tell the guy where I buy bearings no Chineese crap, I'll pay more for SKF or Koyo. 17.8% increase in their defense budget for modernization this year, that we help pay for with all of their crap we buy. I got really pissed when I bought a Harley luggage rack(at a premium price) for my VRod. The holes were a poor fit, flipped it over and in the casting said "Made in China"! Sorry for the rant, just a sore subject with me.

I think most of us feel the same about the Chinese stuff and will avoid buying it where possible.

The boom with Chinese pit bikes is pretty much gone and none of the guys I know off, who bought one have still got it.

But it did allow a lot of people to buy a bike for their kids, who would not otherwise have bought a bike and that can only be good in the long run for everybody.

And for people who copy stuff, unless they start to do R&D themselves, they are always going to be several steps behind.

So short terms most likely no worries for the trails manufacturers, medium to long term will depend if the newcomer will get enough traction (sales) to be competitive with better, faster and better looking bikes.

Eff & Fury

Yeah Andy can be an irrascible bugger, but he has our interests at heart.

Do yourself a favour and check my membership number. I don't think it'll be a problem (hedging my bets there..).

Kim, good point.

Hello! Big brother is watching and I'm gonna have to slam you down on your totally false claims.

You did NOT link to my photo pages or articles. What you did is link directly to my photos like this:

IMG_2937.JPG

You didn't give any kind of credit whatsoever which is why I reacted as I did. It costs me serious money to serve out the content on Trials Central and by linking directly to photos instead of the content pages you are stealing my bandwidth and costing me money. If you had directed your link to the page the photos came from instead of linking to the photos themselves it would not have been an issue as my advertisers get a bit of exposure and Trials Central gets a bit of exposure. I have absolutely no objection to that. It helps spread the word and helps promote the site. Link directly to photos and cost me money then yes - I'm going to come down on you - as you found out.

I would say if you have an issue with how I run Trials Central, please feel free to raise it with me instead of bitching about it on another site. I'm always open to feedback, be it positive or negative and am not, as has been suggested "irrascible" (sic)

Wait a minute....I need to go grab a beer......

Ok, I'm ready now, let the drama begin!
