Aluminium frame swap?

Just wondering if anyone has put the Ec300 motor in an aluminium frame? Done a search for the most obvious terms but ain't found anything yet. Would love to get it in RM or CR chassis...

Christini has a version that uses the GasGas engine.
Even with the all wheel drive, it weighs less than a stock GG.

I've been thinking about this swap for some years now and just took a step forward 3 days ago! I believe Gas Gas licensed general frame geometry from Kawasaki many years ago and, from what I recall, my 2001 GG 300 motor looked like it would maybe fit into my 1999 KX 250 steel chassis with minimal effort. My latest acquisition (3 days ago) is a conversion of a 2T KX 250 into a 2007 KX250f aluminum (aluminium for those across the pond!) frame. In talking to the prior owner, he did not think it was very hard. You must convert the aluminum frame from a single down tube to a double down tube for the center port exhaust, you must reconstruct the frame cradles under the motor to match the new down tube configuration, you must verify the diameter of the swingarm pivot and drill the cases if needed, you may have to cut or shim the swingarm if its too narrow or wide, the motor mounts must be moved and fabricated, a head stay mount must be added to the frame, and the airbox must be configured for a GG airboot. It's not too bad when you see it! Good luck!

Several years ago I saw (on Thumpertalk) someone had swapped a GG300 into a '02-'07 CR250 chassis. I thought it was odd at the time, but now I wish I had done the same! The 3rd gen CR is my all time favorite handling bike and the GG300 is my all time favorite offroad engine, that could have been a match made in Heaven. It's ironic really, I sold my '02 CR as a roller (scattered the crank/cylinder/case damage) shortly after buying the GG, I already had everything I needed!!!
