KTM 250/300 2 strokes off road models will have 6 speed tranny for 2011. New 250 cylinder, new carbs, new pipes and mufflers.

Wonder when the 2011 GG bikes will be ready:rolleyes: 300 better have the e-start is all I can say and better speced suspension settings all around.

hoping, HOPING for e start. and for goodness sake they need to ADVERTISE in the united states! ya, we see them around, but they dont advertise, they dont get their name out. thats part of the reason that ktm is dominating the off road market. gasgas doesnt get there name out. makes me sad:(

Makes me sad too. In the Hare scramble series here the KTM's are 10 to one over every other Brand out there.

Also alot of the KTM riders are advertising for KTM by wearing their KTM riding gear (jerseys & pants etc...)

Interesting about KTM going to 6 speed. I wonder what sort of ratios they are going to use...is that info out there yet?

For comparison purposes...

Last yr in an Enduro we had some big flat out field crossings. I almost felt bad the first time I shifted into 6th and motored by a small fleet of orange things. :D

i've got a 525 exc that i use for dualsporting and trips to baja, along with my ec 300 for bush riding. if ktm put the exc tranny in there 300,with a e start-that will be my next bike! i can't believe that gasser hasn't got an e start 2 stroke out there yet?

Another advantage gone is apparantly the fork, as the Sachs needs a lot more work where the Zokes were very ridable stock.

Still, no way I'd buy a KTM, and I've ridden new ones. They just have this unplanted feel about them to me, that does not inspire confidence. Maybe the new linkage bikes will change that.

There doesn't appear to be far to go for the range to become a "me to" product given that the new 4t mongrel bikes have lost 1 gear, efi and all have lost street legal status!
