Bearings, seals, and other common parts

I thought this might be a good place to gather information on common parts you've found with part numbers, prices, and where you found them. I understand that things like rear brake levers are likely an ebay or dealer item, but I don't like paying $20 shipped for a $6 seal.

For example:
The countershaft seal on my 2003 EC300 is 30 ID x 40 OD x 7 deep. It's an SKF 11600. I found it on Amazon for $6.21 shipped Prime ($20 shipped at the dealer):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CKNVI6/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also found the o-rings for the countershaft are 25x2. You can get a package of 50 on Amazon for $9 shipped Prime ($15 shipped for only 2 at the dealer):
http://www.amazon.com/M1x2-5-Buna-N...F8&qid=1377689739&sr=8-1&keywords=25x2+o-ring

Anyone else have something to contribute? I'll continue to add items as I find them.

will those work on an '11?

I am too lazy to look it up. :D

You are lazy.

I looked it up and the part numbers on the seal and o-rings between my 2003 and your 2011 are the same. Go for it.

The shipping cost is going to kill the local dealer. They get hit with a high shippping cost from the distributor. Then they send you a part and you pay shipping and tax. Hard to compete with a national shipper who has shipping rates that are highly discounted and direct to your door. That is why I liked Clay's idea of central parts and give the dealers a fee. I'm respomsible for shipping 120 million packages a year and a small guy cannot compete. Clay/Gofasters would be best to set his model up with Amazon to leverage their shipping. I want the dealer to survive but we would be better off buying some of these parts on ebay and sending the leftover money to the dealer.

So this is a little off topic...

thanks! oh, i was doing a bunch of stuff at the time, and didn't
feel like messing with it. ;)

I generally get my o-rings & seals and such from Mcmaster Carr.

do not know if you noticed this on your Amazon link.

but it says this: "Usually ships within 1 to 2 months."

I use mcmaster for a lot of things, too. I get free shipping to my office.

That seal shipped out the same day. I installed it last night. :)

I never use Amazon much...had some bad experiences with them...shipping took forever a couple things. I am used to 3 day shipping...where the items I ordered from Amazon took weeks.

Where does Amazon get those seals? McMaster Carr? or a China vender?

that "usually ships in 1 to 2 months" has me leery from ordering from Amazon.

Amazon is not all the same. Things shipped from amazon prime or the like are very fast shipping. You throw that out of the window when chasing low prices shipping from members. I have prime and get free two day shipping on nearly everything. I even had a 12lb maul show up 2 day shipping. Had multiple steam cleaners shipped free 2day shipping. You can even have a 100 lb boxing heavy bag shipped 2 day shipping for free and overall you pay $60 total!

Ahh that is what it is. I had a couple bad experiences...then kinda wrote them off, and didn't explore any deeper.
